The purpose of grades in the academic system here in the U.S. is simple, to show progress of students, and they reflect how both a/the student and teacher is doing. But I feel that the current 1-100 percent grading system is becoming obsolete, and that a standards-based grading system is more suited to our goal-achieving prospect. I say this because the standards-based system better reflects how the student is doing by pointing out what specific skill or skills the student is slacking in. Then the student can focus more on improving those skills or that skill. We need to start implementing these grading techniques so we can improve our academic system.
My passion project is, more like has come along nicely! I have MANY slides and I believe I am just about done. My plan is to keep researching more, and maybe add a slide or two more. Other than that, I'm going to keep reading it over and over until my eyes fall out because it's so awesome!

I am having a great time so far into the journey that is 8th grade! I can't wait to meet new friends and explore new topics! I like all of my teachers, I don't get a lot of homework if any, and I don't have to take Composition or Geometry because I'm in ROGATE, again! I live on a farm here in Columbus and enjoy the outdoors. And I got t take a Friday off last month for a tractor show. I exhibited 2 tractors, and learned to plow on a 1932 Farmall F20! I AM HAPPY!
